beautiful family

just before leaving for holidays on a warm summer night, i had probably the most special night as a photographer i have had. i had the honour of capturing two very special families at the same beach at the same time. the families were not related to one another through blood, but through friendship, love and they have a special bond that only  certain parents ever will have. both families have children with special needs. both families have endured so much stress that i can not image. both of their children have gone through so many  painful medical procedures and yet still are joyful. both families have love oozing out of them and through all they have been through and all they have to face in front of them they are a true inspiration to me. i came home from this photo session with a heart full of love and feeling so much admiration for both families. we had so many smiles and so much laughter during our summer session i feel so blessed to have been asked to capture them. this blog post is part one. and the sweet little girl under the tree in a few photos belongs to next family you will see in part two. it seems the boy and girl are forming their own special friendship, there were even kisses when they parted ways. the session was taken at queen alexander hospital, they have the most lovely beach that is wheel chair accessible. both families have spend a considerable amount of time at QA and it was a perfect place for our session.
