i had the pleasure of spending the morning with an amazing family last week. i photographed this beautiful family just prior to jane giving birth. we talked about when we would take the newborn photos, the family is in the process of building a beautiful new home and they wanted to wait until they moved in but i told them that i usually like to take newborn photos within the first two weeks. she said they would not be in their new house by then and she really didn’t want photos of them in their rental house. i suggested breaking up the session and doing those special newborn images that can only happen once, rental home or dream home, it just doesn’t matter, i believe the beauty is created by the love within the walls. but i am also excited to do the second part of the session, when the two boys are in their own bedrooms surrounded by the families art work and all of their familiar furniture and everything is unpacked. i can’t wait to see the home they have built. another amazing bonus to this special session was that the boys grandma happened to be out visiting from ontario, she was a joy to be around and i truly found it hard to leave the house after i had finished taking photos. it was so comforting and peaceful and warm. oh and the dog, the dog, how i loved their dog.
