Michelle Loewen Photography http://www.michelleloewenblog.com Blog Wed, 16 May 2012 21:00:55 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.1.2 summer-almost http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/summer-almost/ http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/summer-almost/#comments Wed, 16 May 2012 21:00:55 +0000 admin http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/?p=2271 the past few days have been so beautiful. almost warmer then i remember last summer being. there is nothing i love more, then the happy sounds of kids playing in the sunshine. my children are drawn to water, drawn to water fights and the sprinkler. not a day goes by that someone in our house doesn’t mention how incredible it would be to have a swimming pool. last night just for fun we looked at all the houses for sale with swimming pools and i think we settled on a little gem in deep cove. a tennis court, a swimming pool and a whole guest house (larger then our current home) for grandma!  if only…. all kidding aside, we are very happy in our humble home, but it is fun to dream sometimes. for now, we will stick to popsicles and sprinklers and i will be thankful for what we have and for the happy screams i can hear after dinner in our yard.

]]> http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/a-day-in-the-life-of-a-two-year-old/feed/ 3 maui http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/maui/ http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/maui/#comments Fri, 06 Apr 2012 22:05:44 +0000 admin http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/?p=2216 i have finally downloaded our vacation photos. i put them into a slide show and asked the kids to come watch. jacob got about five photos in and turned to walk away, he had a sad look on his face and looked at me and said, “sorry mom, i just can’t watch. it makes me too upset.” jordan sat quietly for about one more minute then she too walked away. she said she almost started to cry. i would say that we had a very successful vacation. made even more successful by the fact that we saved for three years to take our trip, we all worked very hard to get there. we mostly have grandma to thank for her intensive forced savings program she put us on! we are not really sure we can wait another few years until we make it back to maui again as it truly was a perfectly magical place. i too have been somewhat depressed, stepping back into reality and our cold spring weather. i can’t wait to return. i don’t have a lot of photos to share, as most times my camera was left behind in the room, but i did try and take a few photos along the way so we can be reminded while we save to go again!

]]> http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/surf-sisters/feed/ 0 vacation http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/vacation/ http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/vacation/#comments Tue, 27 Mar 2012 07:46:46 +0000 admin http://www.michelleloewenblog.com/?p=2197 its nice, a perfect break from everyday life. i have to say i have taken only a handful of photos and it feels good. i look at my poor camera sitting on the floor of our beautiful condo room every morning as we run out the door and only hesitate for a second. it stays behind, and in its place boogie boards, towels, balls, waterbottles, pina colada’s, and other things that don’t get ruined in the sand, fill my arms. my memories of this trip will be lodged in my head for a very long time. there will be a few photos, but not as many as i thought. yes i do wish i had my camera for moments like when i watched my mom get swallowed up by a wave. she looked like she was caught in the spin cycle of a washing machine, but that memory too will somehow remain fixed for a long long time. maui truly is a magical place. one i am not sure i am ready to leave.
