my garden gives

a whole lot of swiss chard. seriously i wanted a lot as i just love it, but all at once it was ready. so i picked and picked and we ate and ate. we had raw salad with a peanut dressing. just click here for a link to the recipe. and i sauteed some with garlic, spring onions olive oil and a dash of balsamic. then grated a wonderful swiss cheese into the warm swiss chard and that too was amazing. and of course, smitten kitchen has many many recipes with chard. so just put it into her search engine and you will be sent to some great recipes. i am so happy i planted my little garden. i can’t tell you how easy it has been to grow. i know i couldn’t handle anything that required much work, but i love the idea of planting a few seeds, turning the sprinkler on every few days and then having a huge crop of delicious greens to eat a few weeks later. i can not wait for the tomatoes and peas! next year i think i deserve two raised beds. one just seems to small!

so a photo of my bought market chard, the day i decided to plant my garden and a photo of my produce, grown in my backyard. so much fun and by far more delicious.
