poached pears

it started with the leaf. i was buying pears for the kids snacks and i noticed that almost every pear in the bin had a leaf on it. they were so beautiful, they inspired me to photograph them. after i took a few images, i was reminded of a recipe i had seen on sprouted kitchen’s website. poached pears in honey. so today our after school snack was just that! although i did not have thyme, the herb suggested in the sprouted kitchen recipe, i did have some beautiful lavender. and it was a great substitution. it paired beautifully with the vanilla and the honey. and as usual, please follow the link to the recipe i followed, i feel better having you do that, rather then my type out a recipe that is not mine. but you are welcome to enjoy my photos of our after school snacks, inspired by a leaf. the dessert would be the perfect ending to a heavy fall meal. it was so delicious and so very easy to prepare. i can see myself making it again for our next dinner party.
