the one of the child drinking from the hose. it is in my head. i talked about it with my friend. it is there, in pretty light. i see it so clearly. should be simple. put two kids in bathing suits. give them a hose and wait. sooner or later as i sit there out of spray way… that image is going to appear in my view finder. the one image that is burned in my mind. oh not only does it not come. i come dangerously close to loosing my camera to mass water damage. many times. my kids were wild. wild! it was like someone gave them sugar without my knowledge. i am sure the neighbours were out on their decks wondering what all the yelling was about. (and they are not even close to us) so i left. left the kids to do what ever it was they were doing, anything but drinking out of the hose civilized. i mean really how hard can it be for them to see what i see in my head. either way, i look at the photos now and i can laugh. they do make me laugh, they do remind me of summer. a warm perfect summer night, just as it is tonight.
