tea and cookies

my grandparents coffee mugs, their names still printed in gold on the fronts of mugs. i love them. my brother has a matching set. i still remember them being at the table with them when we went to visit them. i think they fit perfect with these yummy after school cookies. the cookies are from one of my favorite cookbooks whitewater cooks at home by shelley adams. i have almost worked my way through the two books she has written and i notice there is a new one due out this spring. that makes me almost as happy as these amazing cookies, called dad’s lunch box cookies. while i am not usually a huge fan of oatmeal cookies, these are freaky good. i promise you. i adapted the recipe slightly as i had no white chocolate, nor am i a huge fan, but dark chocolate worked wonders. no recipe posted, only because i want everyone to go buy this book (oh don’t worry i am sure the recipe is on the web somewhere if you don’t want to buy it) but it really is a great cookbook!  oh and lola is growing at a wonderful pace. just incase anyone was wondering. i promise we didn’t  feed her any cookies. but i will include a photo from her yesterday, just because i am smitten.
